Open Question: I found this lizard? in my driveway?

I found this lizard dead in my driveway. It is approximately 8 inches in length and has a very large head. It looks like a salamander, but it has claws, so I'm sure it's not. I live in Northeastern Kansas. I can't imagine that a lizard this big would live here, especially since it's so cold out. It is bluish gray with orange spots.
